For my stay in Sapporo I’d chosen the Mercure in the Susukino area.
Mercure is a mid range hotel from the Accor stable.
Mercure Sapporo, Sapporo, Japan
The hotel is in a superb location with easy access to the subway and the trams, and there are heaps of restaurants and bars on your doorstep. There are also a dozen konbinis in the area.
Check-in was pretty easy. Upon check in they told me that the bar was closed during my stay so gave me a can of beer as my welcome drink for being an ALL Loyalty member.
I’d been upgraded to a very nice room on the top floor for my stay which was a pleasant surprise.
The room was large and light with a window looking north.
There was a large king bed with, most importantly, decent pillows!
The desk was under the window, and the large TV at the foot of the bed.
Bathroom was a good size and had a shower in the bath.
Room cleaning is using the “eco” system where the room is only fully serviced every 3 days but you get new towels daily.
Checkout was also efficient.
This is a very good hotel and the rates won’t break your bank either.
