Generally I’ve been choosing to stay at hotels close by the train stations unless there’s a compelling reason not to.
Luckily there’s no shortage of hotels close by to Sendai station.

It’s amazing what you find in train stations in Japan. You’ll find shops, restaurants, bars, hotels… you name it you’ll probably find it at one of the large railway stations.
And so it was that I was wandering through Sendai station when I happened across Kirin City+.

Sendai was as hot as an oven as I ventured out mid morning to have a bit more of an explore.
I’d checked out the observation deck at SS30 as a way to gain some respite from the heat but I couldn’t loiter there all day so headed out trying to find somewhere to have lunch while jumping from shadow to shadow.

I headed down to the basement food floors at the S-PAL at Sendai Station hoping for a good meal.
I did a lap and honed in on a restaurant that served yakitori.
