BEER PUB Takumiya is a place you MUST go to.
It was my final night in Kyoto and I was looking for a good feed and better beer. Luckily I’d found mention of a great little gastropub about 10 minutes walk away.

The beer selection is pretty good. No fixed list, today’s brews will be on the blackboard, thankfully in English as well as Japanese.
Some of the beers I tried were
- Shiga Kogen Indian Summer Saison which was fruity and I thought was better than average
- Strata Black IPA which was a very smokey and hoppy black IPA. It was probably a shade better that the saison.
There was a good food menu as well. Popular items seem to sell out quickly. My first choice had sold out so I ordered the curry chicken udon noodles instead and I was impressed. This was probably the best noodle dish I had ever eaten.
I’d definitely return.
