Bourke Street Green, Melbourne, Australia

For as long as I remember the forecourt of the RACV Club building on Bourke Street has been a bit of a wasteland. I don’t think I ever saw anyone out there. The club obviously recognised it was a great space that was under utilised so they’ve opened up a bar called Bourke Street Green that’s open to all, not just club members.

First impressions were good. It’s a large space with a good selection of seating and standing options. While it was busy on a Friday evening it didn’t feel crowded.

One thing I like is that they’re promoting local Victorian businesses like brewers and distillers.

While I stuck with beers during my visit, others chose cocktails which looked good, and the bar snacks were soon scoffed down.

I can see myself coming here often especially for their monthly beer tastings.
