Sendai was as hot as an oven as I ventured out mid morning to have a bit more of an explore.
I’d checked out the observation deck at SS30 as a way to gain some respite from the heat but I couldn’t loiter there all day so headed out trying to find somewhere to have lunch while jumping from shadow to shadow.
Pizzeria LAVAROCK, Sendai, Japan
On the ground floor of the Sendai Trust Tower, which also houses the Westin Sendai hotel, is a pizzeria called LAVAROCK.
The place was bustling as I’d arrived just as the lunch rush hit but was given one of the last free tables.
They have some lunch deals which seem to change every so often where you can choose a pizza from a small selection, and you get access to the all you can eat salad bar.
Today one of the pizza options was a spicy salami pizza so I chose that.
I managed to get to the salad bar before the huge rush of hungry workers descended upon it. There was a decent choice of salad.
Being in an Italian themed restaurant I had to also order a Peroni.
The pizza was OK, certainly not the best I’d ever had, and it was far from the worst too. I’d say middle of the road.
For a quick bite for lunch, and to get away from the heat outside, it was a good place to eat at.
With dread I stepped out into the hot wondering how I’d get back to my hotel without shrivelling up like a prune.
