Cocotte, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

I started to wander over to the west of Amsterdam through De Wallen and towards Grachtengordel-West and ended up on Spuistraat where I found a small crêperie called Cocotte.

It was busy when I arrived for a small brunch around 11am with a couple of small tables inside free so I grabbed one.

Cocotte has 10 different crepes on the menu but I chose a brunch special, the Brunch Parisien, which gives you a juice, coffee, pastries and a crepe. The Brunch Parisien comes with the Complete Gallete (crepe) with ham, egg, emmenthal cheese and creme fraiche.

The crepe was excellent and far exceeded the quality and taste of the one I’d had earlier in Montpellier at La Crêperie de la Comédie. Sort of weird that I needed to leave France to get a good French crepe.

The whole brunch spread was good and filling, and the coffee great.

Worth a visit if you’re in the area.
