It was my last full day in Tokyo and I headed out to Ueno park to have a look and relax away from the summer sun.
Around midday I was feeling a little bit peckish and headed to the building of restaurants between Ueno Park and Ueno Park Street.
Asian Restaurant & Bar Halka, Ueno, Tokyo, Japan
I started at the top of the building directly from the park and did a lap of each floor to see what the options were.
On the 1st floor I saw Halka offering a variety of different asian cuisines so I went in.
There was one table free which I was seated at and given the menu.
Now, to say the menu had an identity crisis would be an understatement. From my reading this small restaurant offered dishes from China, India, Japan, Thailand and probably a couple of others!
I decided to have the chicken biryani which came with a salad, dal curry and raita. I also ordered a plain naan, and a premium malts to drink.
The meal was good, it wasn’t overly spicy (in fact it could have done with a little more zing to it) and it was large and I ended up struggling to finish.
The place was full so I didn’t want to hang around.
For the amount of food I got the price was good, but it wasn’t the best biryani I’ve ever had but it was passable.
