Hakodate BeerHall, Hakodate, Japan

It was mid afternoon in Hakodate and I decided to take a walk down to an area on the waterfront where several warehouses had been converted into shops, restaurants and bars.

It took me about 30 minutes to walk from near Hakodate station to the Hakodate BeerHall, staying the shadows as much as possible to avoid the searing sun.

Sakae soba/udon, Hakodate, Japan

After a quick walk around the Hakodate waterfront and watching a cruise ship dock I headed towards the market area which is a short walk from Hakodate station.

I did a quick walk through the Hakodate Morning Market where there were many varieties of fresh seafood on offer.

APA Hotel Ueno Ekimae, Ueno, Tokyo, Japan

I’d decided I would stay around the Ueno area for this trip as it where the Keisei Skyline from Narita Airport terminates and where I could jump on the Shinkansen for my train north.

I chose an APA hotel called APA Hotel Ueno Ekimae which is about a 10 minute walk from both the Keisei station and JR Ueno station.
