L’Espace Carnot, Lyon, France

Saturday morning in Lyon and I’d jumped on the tram to head off to the confluence of Rhône and Saône Rivers before heading back to Place Carnot for lunch. Walking around the square surrounding Statue de la République are many restaurants and I chose L’Espace Carnot.

You can eat inside, on the pavement or, at certain times of the year, across the road in an area setup with tables on the opposite footpath.

I sat just outside the front door so could watch the busy foot traffic wandering past.

For lunch I ordered the veal escalope which was delicious. I think it must have been a special as it’s no longer on their menu.

Since is was a nice sunny day I chose to drink a couple of Kriek Lambics – a fruit sour, but very refreshing, beer.
