Three Crowns Hotel, North Melbourne, Melbourne, Australia

After having endured the longest COVID-19 lockdowns on the planet Melbourne was starting to come back to life so a couple of us decided to venture out to North Melbourne to check the menu at the Three Crowns Hotel as we’d heard that the kitchen was good.

First impressions were that the menu had some great choices.

Thursday evening was burger night so there was a special on which several took part in, while a couple of others went for steak and I decided on the beef cheek after my first choice of the ribs was not available.

A couple of us also ordered the steamed hoisin pork belly bao buns for a starter.

The pub was busy but our food came out without too much delay.

The baos came out first and I must say that they were delicious.

Those that had the burgers said they were good. The steak eaters said that they were cooked to perfection and from what I saw I’d agree.

My beef cheek was one of the best pub meals I’ve had in years. It was magnificantly cooked, fell apart with a small nudge of the fork and then melted in my mouth. Absolutely superb.

We agreed that the menu at the Three Crowns Hotel needs some more exploration so we’ll be visting often. You should too!
