Tap Public Gwanghwamun Granseoul, Seoul, South Korea

It was the afternoon of my first full day in Seoul, and as I was wandering back to a metro station to head back to my hotel I opened up my map to look for some beer. Closeby I found a bar called Tap Public. It took me a while to work out that the bar was in the basement of an office building. I was searching probably for the best part of 20 minutes before it dawned on me to go subterranean and there it was!

Tap Public is an interesting place. They give you an RFID braclet when you enter and point you to around 40 or 50 taps on the wall. You grab a glass, look at all the beers on offer and once you’ve decided what you’d like to drink you swipe your RFID braclet and then pour yourself a beer. You get charged by the millilitre so you can have a full glass or just a taste.

When you leave you hand in your RFID braclet and they work out the damage.

The selection of beers was superb. They have both local and imported beers available so you’re sure to find something you’ll like.
