ANA InterContinental Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan

I like the InterContinental Tokyo hotel. This was my 5th stay at the hotel having stayed here in 2015, 2016, 2017 and at the start of this trip before I headed to Toyama.

Check-in wasn’t upto it’s usual slick standard. I think there was a problem with the room I was originally given as I was called back and asked to wait while they sorted something out. After about 5 minutes I had a new room key and headed up to my Fuji view room, but alas, as per last time, I didn’t get to see Fuji from my room as the sky was just too hazy to see that far.

The room was excellent, clean and modern. Bed and pillows were great and I slept well.

On my previous trips I’d not explored the area around the hotel that much instead heading mostly north of Tokyo station. But on this trip I spent a majority of my time in the local areas of Akasaka and Hamamatsucho. If you’re into food and beer, then these areas will offer you many opportunities to explore.

Alas, my time in Tokyo and Japan had come to an end and it was time to head down to the ground floor to grab the Limousine Bus to Narita to head home.
