Kiwa Taproom, Seoul, South Korea

For my first day in Seoul I decided to head up a little north to the famous Insadong Street, close to Gyeongbokgung Palace. Jumping off the metro at Jong-Gag station I walked around the area for a while before heading a little further north towards the palace.

I didn’t go into the palace as it was coming toward lunchtime and I was hungry and thirsty.

Pulling up my map app I found a small local brewery close by called Kiwa Taproom very close to Seoul’s National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art.

KIWA TAPROOM, 종로구 율곡로1길 74-7, Seoul, 03062, South Korea

Kiwa Taproom is a quaint bar in a small laneway. There’s seating inside and outside, but as it was still cold in Seoul I opted for inside.

They have a good selection of beers which you order through a tablet on your table, and they also have a food menu.

I tried a number of the beers and they were above average.

For lunch I had my first Korean Fried Chicken. A huge dish of chickens wings, cooked to perfection and with a superb taste.

Overall, I wasn’t disappointed with my visit to Kiwa Taproom, and if you like beer and chicken it’s certainly worth a visit. I know I will be visiting again when I visit Seoul next time.
