My time in Hakodate was coming to a close so I decided to head out for one last feast.
About a block from Hakodate Station is a outdoor food court called Daimon Yokocho with 26 little izakaya type restaurants all offering something different.
Yakitori & Choinomi Hakodate Bar, Hakodate, Japan
My target today was called Yakitori & Choinomi Hakodate Bar. It was a small restaurant with about 10 seats at the counter looking into the kitchen/bar which is open from 5pm til 11pm.
The speciality is grilled pork dishes so I settled in for a couple of hours to eat several different types of pork yakitori washed down with several glasses of Asahi Super Dry.
There was a consistent turnover of diners over my time there so you shouldn’t have to wait long, if at all! And if there’s a queue try one of the other 25 places.
I really liked this izakaya. Food was good, atmosphere was good, the music was supurb.
Very much worth a visit.
