My Curry Shokudo Ueno, Tokyo, Japan

I was now back in Tokyo for the final couple of days of my trip.

I’d hopped off the shinkansen at Ueno and made the quick walk to my hotel in the extreme heat.

After a quick freshen up I pulled up a map and looked for somewhere to eat.

I spotted a curry restaurant close by with decent reviews so decided to give it a try.

My Curry is a chain with many locations and a decent selection of curry dishes.

I chose a beef curry that allowed me to select the spiciness. I thought I’d better play it safe an only chose to have medium spicy, 4 out of 9 if my memory serves me correctly.

You order on a tablet and the bell rings when your order is ready to collect. You pay your bill when you collect your food. You can either pay at a machine, or the staff also have a credit card terminal.

I had the first spoonful of curry and I was glad that I didn’t dial up the spiciness any further as this curry packed a punch.

Despite the spiciness I really liked the flavour of the dish.

Certainly somewhere to try if you like curries.
