Kokoromi, Himeji, Japan

First thing I want to say is that this is the most absolutely superb place to visit if you wish to sample sake.

Kokoromi is situated under the shinkansen lines at Himeji station, south east side.

Walking in you are confronted with a wall of sake.

All of which you can sample starting at around ¥350.

You order at a computer terminal that allows you to search via taste, sweetness, location and price. You select what you want to order and receive a little ticket which you give to the staff when you pay and then you get your sake on a little tray along with a card that describes your sake.

I didn’t have all 6 in one sitting rather I visited twice. Mid afternoon on one day I was the only patron, on the other day there was one other visitor.

All I can say is that if you wish to sample sakes from all over Japan and you are in Himeji then this is a great place to visit.
