DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

The last stop on my European adventure was Amsterdam.

For my Amsterdam home I’d chosen the DoubleTree by Hilton right next to Amsterdam Centraal Station and this was to prove to be my favourite hotel of my trip.

Hilton Brussels City, Brussels, Belgium

After the train trip from Lyon to Brussels Central station I was in a taxi for a short ride to my next hotel The Hilton Brussels City in Rogier.

If I’d done my homework a bit better I’d have gotten a train to either the Rogier Metro station or to Brussels Nord station which are both a ~5 minute walk from the hotel… but alas I’m not known for planning so spent ~€15 on the taxi.

Cornish Arms, Brunswick, Melbourne, Australia

I have a mate living up in Brunswick, and rather than him coming into the city for beer and food I sometimes jump on the tram and head 20 minutes north.

Brunswick is a quick tram ride up Elizabeth Street, Royal Parade past Melbourne Uni and then Sydney Road.

The Cornish Arms is a largish pub a couple of tram stops past Barkly Square shopping centre.

TAP Craft Beer Bar, Singapore

For many years the Capitol Piazza in Singapore was being redeveloped – in fact probably for the past 5 years atleast! But finally the renovation has been finished and the results are quite good. Lots of shopping, restaurants and bars.

When I was in Singapore in May I noticed that a bar was about to open call TAP Craft Beer Bar and I made a mental note to try it next time I was in Singapore.

That next time was December 2015.
