In Montpellier I had decided to stay around the Comedie area because it was close to alot of restaurants & bars and I could walk to and from Gare de Montpellier Saint-Roch to the hotel. For my trip I’d mostly chosen Accor hotels so had booked myself into Hotel ibis Styles Montpellier Centre Comedie.

Hotel ibis Styles Montpellier Centre Comedie is around 500m from Gare de Montpellier Saint-Roch. It’s a slight uphill walk regardless of which way you walk. I headed up Rue de Maguelone and veered right at Rue Joffre, left at Rue de Verdun and right onto Rue Vanneau. Probably took 15 minutes including the times I stopped to look at Google Maps.
Checkin was pretty quick even though I arrived earlier than the official check in time.
The room was quite bright and modern.
I had a view up Rue Baudin towards Place de la Comedie (though you can’t see it in the photo).
And the bathroom was large compared to what I’d had in Bordeaux and Toulouse.
Bed and pillows were good and I was able to get a decent nights sleep.
Breakfast was included which was the standard continental breakfast with lots of bread, meat and fruit options. It was certainly enough to fill up the tank before heading out to explore the city.
No laundry service at this hotel, so the large bathroom was a bonus for drying my clothes.
