Hopscotch is a bar and restaurant in Melbourne’s Southgate precinct just south of the river across from Flinders Street Station.
Hopscotch, Melbourne, Australia
Hopscotch was previously known as World Cafe but has undergone a major refurb in the last couple of years into a vibrant and bright new space.
The reason I was here was to have a couple of beer with a friend as there’s a good and varied beer menu.
My first drink was a faily decent Outmeal Stout from Bad Shepherd Brewing. It has a robust roasted coffee taste.
Second was an American Pale Ale called Supercharger APA from Panhead Custom Ales. Supercharger has a strong hoppy flavor, a complete opposite to the oatmeal stout.
Finally, I tried an excellent chocolatey white stout called Counter Culture – So Long Darkness..? from Stone & Wood. This was my favorite beer of the afternoon.
I like what they’re done to the space, and I like the choice of beers.
