It was a hot and humid Singapore Saturday afternoon (lol, aren’t they always hot and humid in Singapore!) and my thoughts turned towards rehydration so I decided to see what Clarke Quay was like in the afternoon.

I stumbled upon the SQUE Rotisserie & Alehouse a couple of years ago when I was staying the the Swissotel Merchant Court.
SQUE is on the first floor of Clarke Quay Central shopping centre, and overlooks the Singapore “River” just across from the better known bar, restaurant and nightlife area of Clarke Quay. I say “River” as the waterway is now dammed by the Marina Barrage so is part of the Marina Reservoir.

I’d just gotten off the plane and thrown my bags in my room at the Swissotel Stamford and decided to head out somewhere I’d not been before for a couple of beers and a bite to eat.
I headed to Seah Street just on the other side of Raffles Hotel and came across a small place called Bridge.

Another year, another trip to Singapore which means I need a place for beers in the hot and humid weather.
I’ve been to Brotzeit before and the service has, for the most part, been decent however this trip I must say I was underwhelmed on several occasions with the service.
Slow service and staff forgetting to place orders and bring bills when asked aren’t the hallmarks of a place I want to frequent.
But being Singapore there are hundreds of similar places fighting for your business so on to better places!
During my last holiday trip to Hong Kong I did the usual day trip to Macau. When you arrive in Macau on the ferry from Hong Kong you’re presented with a myriad of free buses to whisk you away to one of the 33 casinos in Macau.
The random bus I picked this time had me heading out to The Venetian on the island of Taipa.
