ANA Crowne Plaza Toyama, Toyama, Japan

Crowne Plaza hotels, particularly in Japan, always seem to live up to a high standard and the Crowne Plaza in Toyama was no exception.

The hotal is in a superb location just south of Toyama Castle with a tram stop on the blue Loop Line right outside so it’s an easy, and cheap, commute from Toyama JR station.

Check-in was fast and I was given an upgraded corner room (albeit without a view of the castle) but had views both east and south. Also at the end of the corridor so was nice and quiet.

Room was spacious with decent double bed and pillows. Bathroom was large.

While I didn’t eat at the hotel I did head upto the 19th floor which is home to the Astral Sky Bar which had a good selection of drinks, including some Japanese whiskies which I tried.

There was also a good view of Toyama and surrounds at night.

Check-out was as efficient as check-in and I was soon on the loop tram headed to Toyama station for my train to Kyoto.
