Bobbie Peels, Melbourne, Australia

A couple of minutes out of the city on the 58 tram route, just past Queen Victoria Market, is a great little “suburban” pub called Bobbie Peels.

Bobbie Peels, Melbourne, Australia

I’ve mostly frequented here on Wednesday evenings when a rather lively trivia competition is held.

While nutting out the brain teasers there’s a fairly decent pub menu on offer. The Panko Crumbed Pork Schnitzel with chips, coleslaw and gravy is a huge meal and is my go to dish here now.

In the past I’ve also had the ‘Bobbies’ Classic Double Beef & Bacon Burger which was good, however I did have the 300g Rump Steak one evening and I must say that I was very disappointed. With the Queen Victoria Market just one block away there’s just no excuse for non top notch produce.

If you are a beer fan then you won’t be disappointed. There is a good rotation of lesser known local beers on tap so you’ll be spoiled for choice.
