I walk along Little Lonsdale Street several times a week and have walked past Water Flame atleast a hundred times and never went in. That changed today.
Water Flame is your pretty standard chinese restaurant, not cheap but also not overpriced.
While we decided what mains to order I asked the waitress for some starters – prawn dumplings, pork and prawn shumai, and BBQ pork buns.
By the time the dumplings had arrived we’d decided on pork ribs with peking sauce and a serve of special fried rice for our meal.
I think Water Flame is one of the better chinese resturants I’ve been to in Melbourne. The dumplings were just a good as I was eating in Hong Kong not too long ago, and the BBQ pork buns were light and fluffy with a really tasty pork filling.
And the serve of the pork ribs was huge, well cooked and tasted superb.
I’ll definitely be popping in rather than walking past in the future.
