Half way between The Mitre Tavern and The Irish Times is another bar called Dikstein’s Corner Bar.
Diksteain’s has character. The building, from outside, doesn’t look like much. Inside it’s a little pokey and little jumlby (if that’s really a word) and outside has a little bit of a European cafe vibe to it.
A summer afternoon sitting outside in Bank Place sipping a cold beer, people watching, is a great way to while away the hours.
Drinkwise the tap beers are standard fare with the prices around the average for the area. I have noticed they have a good selection of wines which I’ve not tried yet and it looks like they do the occassional wine tasting.
I haven’t eaten here but the menu has a European bent to it and I’ll probably try the tapas next time.
Defintely no frills but a nice place all the same.
