I think I’ve been here several years when the bar / restaurant was called something else.
London House looks over busy Salsibury Road onto Victoria Harbour and over to Causeway Bay.
London House is marketed as a “touch of London in Hong Kong” and has Gordon Ramsay’s name against it.
I wouldn’t say that the menu is overly British – there’s Chicken Tikka Masala and Bangers & Mash, but there’s also plenty that’s not British e.g. slow cooked octopus, chorizo jam, orange, baby gem.
I had the smoked gammon ham steak, pineapple, skin-on chips, with fried eggs and it was very tasty and quite substantial, so much so that I couldn’t finish the chips or the pineapple.
I did manage to try a couple of beers that I hadn’t tried in the past:
- HK Yau Underground Pale Ale – a Hong Kong brewed IPA
- Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc – a French wheat beer
Both were decent beers, especially in the warm and humid Hong Kong weather.
I also visited on my way back from Europe for the Friday evening happy hour.
Probably worth another visit – happy hour is something like 4pm til 7pm.
