In Montpellier I had decided to stay around the Comedie area because it was close to alot of restaurants & bars and I could walk to and from Gare de Montpellier Saint-Roch to the hotel. For my trip I’d mostly chosen Accor hotels so had booked myself into Hotel ibis Styles Montpellier Centre Comedie.

After my afternoon of drinking beer in Montpellier’s old town I decided to take it easy on my last evening in the city and concentrate more on the food than the drink. About a 200m walk from The Beehive is Fitzpatrick’s Irish Pub where I ended my mini pub crawl.

After Bar Palace I retired to a bar closeby called The Beehive. The area is buzzing (pun intended!) with restaurants and bars.

After Chez Ouam I started on a little bit of a pub crawl through Montpellier with the first stop being the Bar Palace.

My second morning in Montpellier had me in the west wandering through the small, meandering streets. Getting back into the main part of the city I spotted a place called Chez Ouam just about lunchtime and I took a seat outside.

Pretty much right next door to La FabRiK is Il Pizzaiolo. You guessed it, an Italian Restaurant.

The area around Place de la Comédie has some really good places to eat and drink – but watchout as there are also some tourist traps! But this evening I decided to start off at La FaBRiK to have a couple of beers before finding somewhere to have a meal.

After my coffee at the excellent Café Latitude I continued to explore the small streets of Montpellier slowly making my way back towards Place de la Comédie and as I got close to Musée Fabre I noticed it was lunchtime so started looking for somewhere to have a meal. I really liked Café Latitude in the little oasis of Place De La Canourgue in Montpellier.

After my disappointing crepe I went looking for a beer and not 50 metres from the crepe restaurant was Les BerThoM which I would find out later is a large chain of beer bars.

I’d left Toulouse around midday and the train trundled through the French countryside to Montpellier via Carcassonne and along the Golfe du Lion.
